How are you doing it?
I was thinking of some kind of dense wiremesh, it would probably slow down the air that gets through the rad. Which wouldn't be a bad thing actually.

Have you got the standard mesh on there? I've never really worried about them to be honest. Straightening the fins once a year is no big deal. Although, as we don't have rain in Australia, it's not really an issue (apart from bugs).
If you did put some finer mesh on there, I doubt it would have a huge influence on water temp (as long as you're moving). But considering they already run hot, it may be something you'd want to watch.

Yeah, probably best to have something on there.
Happy to post you the standard guards for the cost of postage.

when i purchased my nc30 there was no mesh on the v-piece and i went through 2 radiators before i decided that ive got to do something about this!!!!!!
i fitted some mesh, quite fine and its worked a treat, makes no difference to the cooling side of things, air passes through no probs at all and more importantly it stops big stones passing through and damaging my rad....job done!!!!
:D
