Making your Aluminium parts look new

I have just done a couple of bits on my bike, and my technique MAY be of some use to you.
The fork legs, exhaust hanger and foot pegs were all looking a bit shabby and well, generally s&%£. I have dry grit blasted the parts using a friends machine (many workshops have a grit blaster of some description) and then i have sprayed on several coats of laquer bought from trusty halfords and now the parts look amazing! VERY cheap and easy. With the forks legs i just took them off and taped up the sliders etc.
