I usually just take mine for short trips on the freeway to get to the local twisty roads but yesterday was my first time doing a good amount of freeway riding. I can't trust my odometer since my bike has a 17" rear instead of the 18" so I googled the distance between the two gas stations and it was about 58 miles. At the second gas station I only needed .92 gallons to top the tank off so I figure my NC gets about 60+mpg on the freeway.

What mpg are you all getting on your V4s?

That sounds very, very good. I'm usually happy if the sums come out at above 40! My last two switches to reserve came at 194 and 207kms. Assuming that means I've used 13 litres of fuel that works out at 42-45mpg. However, that's Imperial gallons and I don't know if in your case the measure is a US gallon, which is smaller (1 Imp. gallon = 1.2 US gallons). In which case the figures would work out even lower in my case....

I think warming these bikes up probably using a bit of petrol, no good for me when I make 10 half mile trips a week!
Managed to turn the reserve on whilst on the move today so that's good.

Wouldn't it be quicker to walk by the time you've let the bike warm up a bit and got all your gear on?

I know it's old fashioned, but I've always hated the idea of doing lots of really short trips. The engine will spend a disproportionate amount of time with the oil and coolant not up to temperature, and you'll barely get the juice back in the battery you used to start it. I really am an old woman at times.. lol

Not really, also means I can go places straight from college. I put my kit on whilst it warms up, lock the shed, pack bag etc. I do try and do long trips at weekend (120km today an maybe another tomorrow plus a 2 hour one next weekend)
I can also pretty much park outside my lesson (thought I would be told off but turns out he was just walking up to me to talk about bikes! So I get away with parking wherever I need to)

Got less than a month left of doing this journey too, my bike gives me an excuse to go home/shops/ride whenever I can.

OP: I get around 200km to a full tank to reserve during daily riding.

It was around 100km before until I discovered a rag stuck in the tank that would block the fuel filter when the fuel got low... aha.

No idea on gas mileage (you can work it out if you like) but is a bike so I don't really worry about it, just reset the needle on the trip counter and know that when its near 200 ill hopefully not be in the middle of nowhere without gas.
