In a bit of a dilemma, I've been offered a running NC30 with tax and MOT on it for £750 which I think is a little too much. The person has obviously come off the bike as it's missing the left hand fairing, and the bikes general condition is pretty poor. On the plus side I believe it has a full or half laser exhaust system. Seller also says it has 19000km on the clock, but when I looked the speedo cable had been disconnected.

Just wondering how much you guys would pay for this:

£750 doesn't sound unfair to me for a runner with T&T, even if it is missing the lowers.

Ive seen worse go for more.

Would want to see and hear it before commiting if it were me though

750 is about right IMHO

Depending on how spangly you want to make it afterwards will dictate how much more on top it is going to cost you, but budgeting for a full service (chains, sprokets, shims, fork overhaul, plugs, oil filter, air filter, brake pads etc) you will be looking at (finger in the air here) at about 350 quid+ just for the bits. That won't make it look any nicer, but will at least make sure it is mechanicaly sound.

Then it just becomes how deep are you pockets and how far does you imagination go

Yeah can see it costing a fair bit to get it roadworthy to be honest. I did have a test ride, seemed to ride ok although it felt like the head bearings needed replacing. Chain looked neglected and I think the front and rear fairings were chinese. I think £600 would be more reasonable myself.

So offer him £600.

I paid 600 for mine, and it was worse than that, that a butchered race fairing that didnt fit, the tank was dented like crazy !kept his circular saw on it), not been run for years and loads a other crap, so looks like a good bike for that kinda money seeing as its nearly rainy season (sorry summer) prices always go up a bit......

The seat fairing is original, and by the looks of it so is the Nosecone.

Offer what your happy with, but to be honest nowadays that's a pretty good price. Even bikes at £1000+ are going to need fairing repairs and a lot of general maintenance and tidying.

If your looking for a £600 bargain that just needs a clean you will be looking around for a while now.

£750 seems ok, offer £600 as suggested and see how it goes...
