back again with more newby questions my front forks are fairly solid has hagon full length springs and did have 15w oil in
front end was solid over b road bumps ect, changed oil to 10w and its improved but still stiff hagon recomend 7.5w will that soften the suspension ?,

No - spring rate is what you need and you have the wrong springs..

Oil is for damping..

SO - sack the Hagons - they are shit, sell them on ebay..
Buy a RIck Oliver fork kit for £80 ish and your forks will be totally sorted.

nice one i did think that but thought it best to check, changing the oil and putting a bit less in has improved the suspension alot but its still, well border line dangerous on bumpy b roads i can see me getting into trouble if a give it some and hit a rough patch and rough patches are common on roads in east yotkshire .

Oil is for damping.

Compression damping for when the fork is compressing (hitting bumps), and rebound damping when the fork is extending.

If your fork oil is too thick, then compression and rebound will be very slow. This is why you found that 10wt oil improved things over the 15wt, the fork could react quicker and flow easier/faster through the damping circuit.

I'd try the 7.5wt Hagon recommends before forking out (see what I did there) £80 on another spring set.

cheers yey was thinking of trying the 7.5 oil i had enough 10w spare so thought i would give it a go,it was just a bit scary felt like i had 50 lb in the front tyre, emailed lite tek and he doesnt do anything for the sf .
