NC30 Panels - Foam Padding Replacement

Hi all,
With most NC30's being 20yrs+, many people's foam padding on the back of OEM fairing (seat/mid/lowers) must be/have disintergrated by now. As indeed are bits of mine!
My question is aimed at the restorers really, what have you replaced it with and how have did you manage to remove all traces of the old stuff?
Sorry for miriad of questions recently, but I'm relatively new to all this restoration milarkey. I do have some festering OCD traits so I am wondering how I haven't got into this earlier...

guess I'm a freerider at heart
Cheers,

Could have answered my own question as this seems to be the right stuff, and one sheet enough to replace it all.
Self adhesive closed cell polyethylene sheet 10mm thick

Will order it next month and see.

Will reserve judgement until received & fully evaluated. Sure its the right thickness, but no real idea about its suitability, properties, density etc.

Will do, however it may be a while as I have run out of money and this task is some way down my priority list at the mo.

I thought the OEM stuff was foil backed,Heat resistant.

My seat panels have a couple of small patches of foil, but they are all chewed up and hanging off.
Not an expert but think thats about it. Anyone got a picture of foam/foil on a good OEM panel?

If it were me, I'd use the foam you've bought stuck on top of/behind some aluminium heat resistant sheeting.

Its interesting this as i need to replace mine and yes the seat and lower panels had foam covered in aluminium heat reflective foil in essence it stops the heat radiating from the exhaust pipes and the engine itself cooking the panels slowly destroying your paintwork. I have seen some heat resistant foil on a roll in halfords but not opened the package up to see if it was up to the job, this would need cover the foam - of course the foam would need to be able to handle high temps you dont want that melting.
