I have 3 rings. I figure one for under the front sprocket to move it out 5mm, and another under the sprocket carrier to also move that out 5mm,, but what's the third one for?

Hopefully 5mm will be enough. This is going on a VFR400R and I'm using some Dymag wheels with a 17" 5.25 rear. With a 160 tire it measures 170mm wide mounted. That's a bit more than the 18" 160 I had on the stock wheel. Hopefully 5mm will be enough. Even if it clears, it will still be close.

I never needed the spacer kit for that setup just a 520 chain but IIRC the 3rd spacer goes on the front. Its been a while since i used one but im sure 2 spacers are used at the front.

That is the setup I have on my track bike, minus the speedo pickup, plenty of room.

Crap, the speedo. I only have 3 rings if I find these stupid things. GF cleaned house when I was gone. I don't know where anything is anymore

I didn't use mine, since I don't run a speedo on the track bike. if you need one or 2 let me know, but finding them may be a challenge......

Took me forever to find those spacers

So Rick emailed me some instructions.

NC30 Chain Spacer Kit Fitting Instructions

Remove the speedo drive unit from the front sprocket cover. Remove the sprocket cover from the engine. Unstake and loosen the large nut on the left side of the rear axle. Slacken the chain. Remove the sprocket carrier from the axle. Fit the large steel spacer over the axle so that it sits within the oil seal on the left side of the hub. Refit the sprocket carrier, washer and nut and tighten lightly.

Remove the front sprocket and refit with the large alloy spacing washer behind the sprocket and the smaller one against the end of the output shaft, under the head of the retaining bolt.

Re-tension the chain to 15-25mm of slack, apply the rear brake and tighten and restake the axle nut. Tighten the front sprocket bolt and refit the sprocket cover. Refit the speedo drive, placing an M6 washer on each bolt between the drive unit and the sprocket cover.

Ok got most of it done, wheel mounted. Now I'm wondering about the chain guide. What did you do? Move it over 5mm drill and tap new holes, or epoxy it down?
