hi and sorry for being stupid, i just serviced my 1995 zxr400 and took the fuel tank tap off to get the tank off. problem is i didn't pay attention to which way round it went on. on the tap it says on, off and reserve. with it not fitted the tap says on,off and res. does anyone know which position lines up with which as i'm not sure and it can go on one of 4 ways. hopefully this makes sense as its hard to explain without looking at it. Thanks for any help

It should only go on in the correct way - most taps (certainly the older zxr's) are shaped to error proof them. One side of the square spigot on the tap itself is not flat - it has a wee raised ridge and the moulded tap is shaped to suit.

Have another look - it might be like that.

thanks for the help noel. it definately seems to go on either way, so i had a look at another 400 and my mates 7r. put it on the same as those and went for a long ride on sunday. seems o.k. well i didn't break down which is a plus side. cheers mate.
