I have a very mild chatter through the bars under light braking, through traffic etc. Unsure of whats causing it.
Heavier braking doesn't tend to bother it.
Bike is an rvf, calipers are spotless, discs are ebc, pads are sintered, both with little mileage.
Head bearings were replaced 2000 miles ago and i can't find any problems with them.
My only unknown are the front wheel bearings.
I would doubt its my fork setup, unless something has gone wrong internally but i don't think so.

Any idea's, its not stored where i live so messing with setup isn't something i will have time to do
for a while yet.

Currently i'm thinking i'll replace the front wheel bearings anyway and check if the head bearings need
adjustment. If anyone has anything else i could check, let me know now.

I think you have answered this one yourself. Check the torque settings on the yokes and replace the wheel bearings and you might find the chatter will go.

as viper says check the torque of the head bearing.
i did mine myself with all the correct tools and OEM bits and i developed the same.
undid the top yoke nut and tightened the lock nut a little more and it cured it.
bearing wise, take the wheel off and stick your finger in and rotate the bearing and see if they feel notchy. it should be silky smooth.
i may a have some brand new bearings in the garage

Graeme has a set of wheel bearings on the way to me, which i had intended to change anyway. I'd say adjusting the head bearings will more than likely sort it out.

not sure how mechanically minded you are, but don't go all ham-fisted on the head race bearing and tighten the crap out of them. just a genlte but firm tightening is needed

I'm safe enough, i've done pretty much everything on the bike after discovering about 7 years ago that giving a bike to a mechanic in ireland is not a good idea, especially a v4.
