hi everyone just wanted some advice on jazzing up my 3en2. the part that i dislike the most on the bike is the pillion seat fairing, id really like something sharper and smaller as the standard one tends to sit really high.

id like advice on a kit for the rest of the bike aswell and where the kits are available

also id there a kit that bolts straight on or is it a case of messing around with brackets etc?

and lastly how easy is it to wire up new lights to go with modded fairings?

Thing is the 3en2 isn't an expensive bike and for the cost of new fairings, seat unit and subframe you'll be spending as muc as the bike's worth, add in a respray and it really isn't worth it.
But that said you'll need to cut and modify the rear subframe to accept a tail unit and that's the same at the front. Tail lights and indicators are easy to wire up. If you use LED indicators you need an in line resistor or change the flasher unit to get the right amount of flashes per minute.
Changing the front lights will probably mean 55/60watt H4 bulbs so you'll need a relay per bulb. This supplies the bulbs with direct power from the battery so you don't fry the existing wiring.
Budget between £1000 - 1500 depending on how much you do yourself.

Now ... the 3en2 isn't a bad bike and that budget figure would be much better spent on suspension. New fork rebuild or a FZR600R Foxeye ot ThunderCat front end (complete with wheel brakes bars etc) will drop straight in. An R6 shock from a new shape bike will go in with a little modding. Throw on some Alpha 10 tyres. bolt on the later Yam Blue Spot calipers with a 3 line braided hose kit http://www.bsr-aerotek.com/store/bikekits.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (option C or D) and you'll have a much much better bike.
Or save that £1-1.5 k and put it towards a R6 when your ready.
