hey guys,

I'm having trouble sealing the air leak on the front two carb inlets on a vfr400. I'm using starter fluid to diagnose this and it increases the revs by 500 approximately.

The carbs look like they're in position
I swapped the front and rear clamp/boots to see if it would work but the fronts still leak a little air. I'm planning to purchase some RVF400 boots as I've been told they're superior.

The revs only seem to hang in the 2000-3000 rev range and i can't set the idle to the recommended 1400rpm without it dying, and it don't hang in past 3000 rpm

Now i have a track day coming up, would it be stupid to attend with a small air leak? The bike idles fine at 2000 rpm and with the bike constantly over 3000rpm during the day it shouldn't be a problem right?

For a track day it might not matter so much as the airleak is only minor, after that get the new rubbers fitted and carbs seated and should be all good.
