Hi All,
Got a problem. Parts books for this model and the early 600 show what is described as an o-ring in position 16 (is it an o-ring???). The part number that matches is 1FN-14147-00. That part number is actually a float bowl o-ring. The CMSNL website http://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-fzr600w-198 ... ml#results
shows two float bowl o-rings.
Anyway the big mystery is what is the real part number for item 16 and is it an o-ring? And which float bowl o-ring do they really use? Is it like the one on my web site here? (work in progress)

On the parts drawing

18 is drawn as the float bowl gasget (they're similar to the 3TJ's)

16 is drawn as the O ring for the top of the emulsion tube

Yes but 16's part number is for a float bowl o-ring. I know, I bought one. It looks like this.

What you want is listed as part 17 on the 3EN2 parts diagram of the carbs.
The part number has been altered to
1AE-14147-00.
It is an O ring and is fitted to many models ,just google it.

Yamaha got this wrong on the original and every parts supplier uses copies of their online schematic.
I have a paper copy of the parts manual infront of me,direct from Yamaha Japan,the part number has been revised by hand.
This also needs to be corrected on the copy in the manuals section of this site that I posted from "Madsi's" site.
Some kind admin. may do it.

Here are the O ring specs from another site.

1AE-14147-00
O-Ring (Internal Diameter 10.5-, Thickness 1.5mm）
(Suzuki：13278-47090）
Notice the Suzuki equivalent is pence and the Yamaha part cost pounds !

This is good news. I have those o-rings as part of the 3TJ kits, so 3EN kits will be available in about a weeks time.
Strange that the mistake is repeated in the 600 parts fiche and possibly some others. The pic of the float bowl o-ring does not match the part number either.

I wouldn't put too much faith in those measurements, not if the original part is anything to go by. Looks like someone picked the nearest standard size. In a 3TJ, it would be hard to compress a 1.5mm section o-ring enough to align the slide housing with the throat. To date, I have only found a few o-rings across both Mikuni and Keihin that are standard sizes. They just wouldn't make it that easy for us would they!

Yes, I think you are right. Given all the evidence that has to be the logical conclusion.

Since you brought up the 250s, I have another problem with them. The FZR250 carb also went through various incarnations. The only one that I plan to cater for being the 3LN1. The relevant parts pages can be found here

Part #34 shows the needle assembly and it appears to include an o-ring. Anyone know if this is the case? I don't want to have to buy the assembly, assuming it is available, only to discover that there is no o-ring.

EDIT: It seems I have sorted this problem out. The pdf file shows the 3LN6 model which is the only one that has the needle assembly shown.
