What sort of chain would most people use.? i have as new condition 520 sprockets and going to go for a non oring chain for the race bike.
I've seen chains at over £100 but just didnt want to spend that much.
What about the likes of this.?

That is a motorcross chain. I don't think you want that.

Yeah i know that, but is there any reason why it should not be used.?
I have mx bikes too and chains ive bought before have come with two split links for the option of doing a rivet link.
Most of the 520 chains on ebay are for mx except the road race ones at over £100..!!

How will you get a 520 chain to fit onto 525 sprockets or will you be using non OEM size also?

i think the clue is in the first post
Why are you not using an oRing or xRing chain ? for the extra few quid they make a huge difference in terms of life or the chain if looked after.
unless its a track only bike and that extra .005bhp is required, buy and oRing one

Porndog use to run a non O-ring chain but i think he found it too much hassle for a road bike, i dont see why not on a race bike though as long as the maintenance is kept up.

6 of one & half a dozen of the other really, a cheaper non o-ring type and keep throwing it away, or a descent O-ring or X-ring chain & look after it (as CRM suggests).
Wanting to renew my chain & spockets soon, I was reading that X-ring is supposed have lower fricton that O-ring. Is this true or just marketing to justify extra cost?
