Race clips ons and clearance issues

I have a set of race clip ons on my latest rvf project and am having clearance issues with the clutch lever and the clocks.

Has anyone else got lower race bars on a road bike? If so how did you solve the clearance issues? Is there an easy way too be the clocks or do I need to try to source some more standard bars?

Thanks for your help!

The clocks are beat up on one of mine too from having the bar hit it. The oem ones have the bars back a little bit more and don't hit the rev counter.

no joy

Problem is where the bars are lower, the clucth and brake adjusters hit the clocks even more than standard and I am pretty sure it will fail the MOT. Short of replacing the clocks with aftermarket ones is there any easy way to reposition them? different levers?

The clip ons I have are the SES alloy race ones.....anyone else use them on the road?

Dont you need the high lift versions on a road bike? Iirc the are 15mm higher to aid clearance? Thats what i fitted and they were fine ?

You could always reduce the steering lock, tyga sell one or you can modify the stops yourself (by gluing a small piece of wheel balancing weight on to the lock stop for example).

I have ridden race bikes on the road before and restricted steering can be a pain.

Can someone recommend some aftermarket bars that will work?

Pretty much all race clips ons will hit the standard clocks, im pretty sure thats why Rick oliver sells raised bars. The HRC lockstop reducer might stop them hitting and the reduced lock isnt that bad, well its better than the lock your left with when fitting RVF forks to a VFR and people seem to manage with them on the road.
