Hi Everyone,
I just obtained a brand new tank from japan auctions, what puzzles me is its brand new, its the classic red/white/blue the first year colors, no one bid on it I managed to get it for a song, are these just not in demand anymore?

Yeah I'm sorry guys I'm at an advantage, I have been watching that site for years and just learned my way around, no I cant read Japanese, but if you hit the translate button you can kind of figure whats going on, even some words don't translate like "old" translate in Japanese is "Mid-evil times" lol....go figure. and then I have a guy there bid on it and bring the parts when he travels to California for the Baja 1000 every year, I know finding some thing like that is Christmas, Thanks for everyone's positive thoughts, and I will post the bike when she is complete, she already looks brand new, Happy New Year to you guys across the pond!

250 quid, not bad at all.
Few small scratched and rust from being in storage for 20 odd years but I don't think its anything that wont polish.
The price is good for a restore, but just a little high for the casual keep in on the roader, plus you need to get it from Japan.
Think you got a good buy there.

still cheap, to put it in perspective, i thing i had the last new UK tank in 2004/5 and back then i recall it was £450 so i would imagine even if still available it would be close to 700 UK - it's still sat in my loft now sealed up.
there is something rather lovely about new panels / parts
