Hi guys,

Recently I crashed my NC24 pretty badly and had to replace the front end. The bike was running fine but now with NC30 front forks and some clocks off I think a Kawa, the bike won't start. The mechanic thinks it could be due to the clocks not being original. Could this be the case? If so why and is there a way around this?

Does the engine turn over at all when you press the starter?

Yea, the starter solenoid is going but she's just not firing up.

Check for spark, no spark check +12 volts is getting to electrics. Start at fuse block and then more to ignition control unit.

Have spark, then check fuel flow from tank. No flow, is vacuum hose connected, assuming vacuum fuel tap. If bike has been standing for some time awaiting repair fuel in tank may be stale. Also cabies may be empty and will take some cranking to fill. Only run starter motor in 1 minute max burst to avoid over heating starter motor and over discharging battery.

The clocks sholdn't cause an issue unless you have wired them up in such a way that it is shorting out.

Follow maggs advice about checked the electrics but disconnect the clocks and everything else if you want to rule them out.

Did it run after the crash? If not the crash could have broken something

Ok thank I'll try all those tests. I haven't tried to start it after the crash. I suggested it may be the carbs because the bike ended up wheels pointing to the sky. Thanks for the advice, I'll get back to you if I still don't get it right.
