How all you guys and girls doing.

I see the NC24 uses a 130/70/18 rear tyre but I am running an Kenda 140/70/18 and not very happy with the grip it's a very hard compound tyre.
Will 'n Britchstone BT92 150/60/18 fit my NC24?
I can get the tyre for free brand new.
My friend got the tyre for his bike but the bike is no more "taxi"

you will find it bloody tighht if it does even go on. the handling will be knackered too s it is too fat for the rim.

It is just how it is..pretty sure old skool 1000cc exups had tyres as narrow too..

the rim width is the problem - 140 section is normally a 4 inch wide rim, you need a 4.5 but you canno get one

run the right sizez and be worried about performance rather than looks.

Only proper nobheads are bothered how wide their tyre is....it is laughable to see people shoehorning huge yres onto bikes that ruin the handling.

I agree with that, so what if the tyres are narrow, it was designed for the small tyre and will still run rings around many other things if you know how to ride properly.

As for the original question..


The NC30 has a completely different wheel and back end.

Put a 130/70/18 BT45 on there, correct size and ratio and the 45's a decent all-rounder thats well suited to the bike, the 24 handles horribly with 140's, cornering is slower.

A 150/60/18 will physically fit on the rim but it'll hit the chain and the exhaust pipe.

Rim applicaton

140/60*18 3.50/4.00/4.50
140/70*18
150/60*18
150/70*18

The 24 has a 3.5 wide rear wheel.

Cool so i'm not using a 150.
what tyre do you use for front coz i can get the 45's in a 130/140/150 here in SA but Britchstone doesn't have one vor the 16" front wheel.

I can get Parelly's sport for the front and the rear.

Ask your bike shop to get you one in.

Bridgestone makes a BT45 in both sizes

BT45F 100/90/16 for the front
BT45R 130/70/18 for the rear

Try it with those tyres and you'll find it's a completely different bike ^_^

Another +1 for using the original sizes, you need less amount of lean for a given corner speed for narrower tyres and it's not like a 400 is going to worry that width of tyre.

Just to put that into context, my VFR750 with ~107BHP[1] only has a 140 section tyre and (when dry) has no issues putting the power down. Having lots more power being the only way I can keep ahead of my wife on her NC35...
