been looking around at the various systems, since the bike ill soon be in possesion of has a standard system, im thinking about treating her to a new set up...
only thing is i cant decide on which to go for...
im loving the look of the shotgun/stacked pipes, and they sound great...
although i am tempted by some of the single mean looking cans....
and then theres the maggot... not too keen on the looks, but ive heard a few clips of them and well... if they sound that evil in a video clip i can only imagine what they sound like in person.....

any advice for a newbie?
much appreciated!

What ever you do don't cut your standard system up to put a slip on can on it!! there are loads of systems already hacked to pieces which can be picked up relatively cheaply.

I have a cut std system for sale at the mo with a Viper can on it which sounds real nice, just needs a little welding to sort it if you are interested?

Cheers Smev

steer clear of the maggot,it's too loud for the road and track, but looks class

from time to time single can jap systems sell on here and ebay but a cut system with a can sounds just as good imo

Yeah i agree with royster, the maggot is too loud you'll get far too much attention from the coppers. My mate has one on his nc30 and it sounds awesome, i often here him when i'm training in my garden a few miles away! I had a go on it yesterday and it sounds just as good when your riding it. Amazingly he hasn't been pulled over for it yet but im sure he will sometime. His neighbours have all signed a petition and sent it to the council though as there fed up with hearing the roar at 5 in the morning when he starts it to go to work not to mention his older brother going to work on his blade with a can the size of a bake bean tin, louder than the maggot lol!

i have a viper end can and i wouldnt change it. like previously said with the cutting of the standard can, i just wished i would of joined here before i got the grinder out
but thankfully the local mechanic is a biker so he passed the viper can on m.o.t day with just a big grin on his face.

the best sounding system i heard was when i got passed in practice at Oulton by Aly Bailey on his RVF and the thing sounded like a 750!!! It was a sp-1 style system and i think it was MHP.

have seen a few knocking about on ebay, but most are twin stack systems which will displace the rear footpegs, which my wife is not too happy about (to say the least).
i ride alot through central london, so the maggot isnt really an option.... the last few trips have proved that...
which reminds me, im gonna have to upgrade the cooling somehow- doesnt like to sit in traffic for any period of time....
thanks for all the help guys!
