Not really sure where this fits on the forum, however since there's a thread on sticking other back ends on an NC here I figure it's not too far out of place. Some days ago there was discussion about sticking other lumps in frames, and here's one that's probably marmite to NC30 fans. NC30 chassis, Tyga panels, and an RG500 lump...

I imagine it's fun to ride, however it begs the question of whether or not an RG500 chassis would handle better or not, and if much weight is lost junking all that valvegear from the NC30, considering there's now going to be four spannies on the bike instead. I guess a TZ750 lump is too wide...

I like the idea, doubtless others will be spitting tar and feathers..

Thats pretty old that bike, think it was for sale a while ago. Id love it, theres no doubt the NC frame is far better than the RG one.

I wondered if the popularity of RG500 engines might mean that RG500s are quite scare in one piece. Just looked on eBay and nearly died at the price of the few on there!!

No. They are expensive.

Even a decent RG400 or a 250 is going to set you back a fair few thousand.

Was thinking just the other day if an RG500 engine would fit in an NC frame, i bet thats one hell of a bike to ride! With the handling of an NC and the looney RG motor!

Shame it'll cost three/four/five/six/seven NCs to buy an RG500 unless you find someone with just a lump on it's own..!

I remember some years ago one where a bloke had got a Honda RS500 (privateer NS500) frame and put an RG500 lump in, did his own custom bodywork and paint, and it looked pretty swish. IIRC he painted and clothed GP bikes for a living at some point so had all the skills and access to the pukka paint codes and diagrams.
