I need to know what I need to fit a set of rvf forks on a vfr. I have searched but had no success. Presumably I will need rvf yokes, and new calipers, what about the vfr wheel, will that fit?

After I missed out on jamboys oki recently for sale I am just going to trying to put together a few trick bits for my nc30 rebuild. When I eventually get round to starting working on it again.

You just need the rick O conversion kit, obviously you need the yokes aswell. The steering lock you end up with is a joke tho, mine came off after 2 rides it was that bad.

It's a real waste of money. The 35 forks are no better than the 30 forks.

If its just for looks save the money and get a 35 :D

yes - it is for looks, but i did think they might be better as were more modern - what do I know!

Buying a set of forks is a lot less than buying a 35...... but agree that once you factor in everything that needs changing its not cheap.

Aswell as all the obvious parts your need dont forget throttle and clutch cables, even with the seriously reduced lock the NC30 cables snag

If it's for looks, why not go for a USD front end from a Blade?

Well it depends on your NC30.

The original NC30 known as the K model (1989 bike) had inferior forks, the later models all have great stock forks. (You can tell these forks as they have a small brass screw in the top, the early forks only have a silver screw without the brass inset)

Give it some time and get over the hang-up on USD forks and enjoy the NC30 for what it is.

The NC35 forks use the same internals as the later NC30 forks.

A much better investment, and a lot cheaper is to overhaul the front forks if they haven't been done, get some new springs in there (speak to Rick Oliver.. he can sort you out some) and your front end will feel wonderful and give you lots of confidence.

The stock later type NC30 forks peform really well.

Unless your building a super track bike and are a very skilled rider (you will also need a great rear shock) I think you will struggle to find the weak-point of the forks on the road if they are in good condition.

As ever - great info and if i buy these forks i might not fit them for a while.

My forks are the later type, but i am an idiot and cant be told......I still like the look of the USD forks in particular the NC35.

I also like marmite.

I'd save up and buy an NC35. As DM has put you need quite a lot of parts but the steering lock is reduced a stupid amount.

How is the rear shock and front brakes?

Overhaul / upgrading these along with the front forks is the best option for the money and will also allow you to ride the fastest (on track of course)

have a NC23 I hardly ride and an NC30 which is in bits - I really dont want a NC35 at the moment!

To be honest I havent even riden the 30 more than about 5 metres so the brakes and rear shock could be pants, i dont know - will prob change them before i get to ride it anyway.
