Removing NC35 fork tops.

Hi guys, want to swap springs. From the top of the forks, I've removed the circling, and the 22mm nut, and undone the 32mm nut, but it doesn't want to come apart!
Any ideas?
I have not resorted to brute force yet, seeking a thinking mans solution!
Thanks

Does the bolt in the bottom of the fork leg not have to be undone as well? I'm not sure if you can remove the spring or not with the damper rod still in place?

perhaps.....
Haynes is not clear, but Rick thought I could change the springs by just undoing the top nuts.
Status is that the preload adjuster is removed, as well as the tripod adjuster, but the top bolt seems anchored in some way and will not come out.
Perhaps I have to remove the bolt at the bottom of the fork legs?
If so, it will have to wait a week.....

Pull the forks out and bring them here 2 heads are better than one

Sorted. Dropped forks out, discovered 6mm damper bolt in bottom, undid everything, swapped springs. No idea how to set oil level so poured in 450mill on each leg. No idea if I've mproved handling or not.
Springs swapped for RO kit, so I'm guessing it will work better....

I find it best to set the level by measurement from the top of the fork leg. Use a syringe with pipe cut to the desired length to set the height. Rick O will send one if you dont have one handy.

Yep, thanks! So how do I do it?
Is the spring in at this point or not?
Sorry, totally unsure on this..

IIRC, no spring, but fork leg fully compressed.
