Numerous vague threads...Need an answer.

I'm going to restore an old NC30 and want to uprate the suspension and brakes.

There are a few threads that hint that this may be possible but I'd like a definitive answer...

Can you put the callipers from a baby blade onto the USD forks of the RVF and use the VFR wheel?

Its a weird question but I'd really like an answer.

Thanks in advance!

Hey mate, the calipers from all cbr250's and cbr400's won't fit the rvf forks. This wouldn't be an upgrade though so not sure what model you're referring to by 'baby blade'. Calipers that bolt straight onto rvf forks include: 03-04 600rr, cbr929, cbr954, sp1/2 etc.

The rvf and vfr front wheels are the same, but you need to use the spindle and spacers to suit the forks (e.g. rvf spindle and spacers on when fitting vfr wheel to rvf forks).

HTH

why would you want to use the calipers from a NC29 ? the standard NC30 and RVF items are far better.

Also in another thread (vague perhaps) you mention you are "looking for a NC30 to restore" but i may be missing the point, but restoring is as i understand it - to put it back to as it left the factory.

If planning on building a special or something to strip / rebuild and change, it may be cheaper to source parts and build something up from bits. i did that with one of the RVF's i have and to date it still rides better than any other NC30/35 i have owned.

At least you acknowledge that it is a weird question.

What are you calling a baby-blade? A cbr400?

They use shitty 2 piston sliding calipers, the NC30 and NC35 (RVF) both use FAR superior 4 piston fixed calipers.

You mention NC35 (RVF) forks? As an upgrade to the NC30? Apart from cosmetic there isnt any noticable improvement as the internals are near enough the same design.

But should you put RVF forks onto the NC30 you can use the NC30 front wheel should you desire.

You seem a little confused and I think everyone here is confused, what are you wanting to do?

My bad, I'm shit with english...

I want the upside down forks from the RVF because they look nice.
I want the callipers from the 03/04 cbr 600 rr (My bad, I was thinking fo the wrong bike)
I want the keep the original VFR wheel.

I just need the knowledge that it will work....

I know I said restore, but what I meant to say was "I want it too look like it could be original, but kick ass"

if you like the forks of the RVF - why not just buy a RVF then ?
again by the time you have messed around swopping it all over, you could have bought a RVF with the money spent.
Not dissing the 30 (i have both) but if its all about the looks then have a look for a RVF

This is very good advice.

This fork swap offeres no noticable benefit to the NC30, and with the amount of money it costs to do you can just buy an RVF.

They don't just swap, you will need to buy some things.

The brakes will fit with adapters and approriate master-cylinder if it isnt 14mm. Stanard 30 brakes if serviced are awesome anyway, ive never needed to upgrade them and I can stoppie the bike with 2 fingers...
