I have a spare NC30 engine. Its from a UK market machine (NC13E-2100***). The right / Clutch side cover does not have the Honda name in the casting like my bike and others ive seen. is the side cover from a different engine? can anyone help
Here are a couple of pictures

Thanks

odd, i know my engine does and thats UK spec.
that one has been painted for sure, but both the 21 and 24 and 35 motors are stamped
only thing i can think of someones filled it and painted it over. remove the cover and see whats behind.

Thanks for your help
Just whipped the cover off. on the inside theres no damage, its just 'smooth', is that normal? it is possible that as you say its been filled/ground. but the paint does look original.
I guess the only way to tell would be remove some more paint.

how strange. i honestly dont recall seeing a smooth one before - be curious to know the score with it though.
where did you get the UK motor ? i trust its going back into a UK bike with all the oil cooler bits ?

i was told the engine came form a crashed bike that had been written off.
I haven't got any plans for the engine at the mo. But i wouldn't 'waste' it. i bought it as a spare for my uk NC30, but if i could find another uk frame?maybe i'd build another up?

It looks repaired and repainted to me, the colour in the first pic looks way off the original colour, not sure that it's just the lighting.
