help with race starts

So based on horrible jetting on the low end (previous carb owner has blocked one of the jets with some kind of glue?) My bike doesnt really work until after 5k and pulls hard and fast from 5k -14 and then boggs down again. The problem is race starts with this set up. I have to smoothly roll the revs up (quick throttle just boggs it down) to 5k and above and then let the clutch out. Doing this burned my clutch so bad I could not complete the race weekend.

What the hell do I do?

Put new clutch in, use only genuine honda parts and use Motul Oil, tried other oils and clutches and dont last, use these and clutch will last, my RVF has 77bhp and not missed beet this season other than first meeting when switched to Silkolene and slipped its head off, change back to what had always used and been fine since. As for race start, I hold at 10K slip cluch till doing about 20mph then dump it and does not bog as is doing about 8k by then. Hope that helps.

Perfect answer, I will try and find some plates state side and get her fixed up to try on the street. Any idea why one of the jets would be blocked off?

Which jet was blocked?

The blocked jet will probably be the air jet. There are good reasons to do this depending on your induction setup, but it's not usually done in a permanent manner. You need to reduce (or block) the air jet orifice when no filter is used. The hrc velocity stacks serve this purpose when used with no filter or airbox.

Even with a blocked air jet you should be able to get the fueling to work, it will depend to a big degree on what emulsion tubes, pilot jet size and needles you're using. Do you know what parts are in your carbs (pilot size, needle codes etc)? Also, it won't like to run with an air filter with the blocked air jets, do you have one fitted?
