On a recent fork overhaul me and viper61 noticed that my damper rods have some light grinding on both, i measured the 4 holes diameters and there 8mm, i assume the grinding was probably to remove the burrs from drilling.

What size are the stock damper rod hole dia's

Think ive got some RVF ones in the garage, same size as the VFR internally aint they? can measure them if you like mate.

Yeah - I don't have any spares, but I'm pretty sure mine were 6mm before I drilled them last year.

What does drilling them out do?

Someone drilled and welded up two of mine and the felt firmer but Graeme France rebuilt them with 2nd hand quality replacements and they feel fantastic, maybe not as firm but better over bumps and generally better on the road.

Revalveing effect, meaning the oil can squeeze through quicker, so like a twat knowing this now I should have gone for a little heavier oil, ive just ordered 10w silkolene but was contemplating 15w as i wasnt keen on its compression damping rate.
