Hoping somebody can help me here..

Went to work today (10 miles) and the bike was fine, however on my way home It sounded odd and had a definate lack in power.

I have never ridden a bike that is only running on 3 cylinders so dont know if its this or not but seems to make sense in my head?

Only thing that had changed was the weather, absolute pissing down all day virtually, thinking there's some water thats got somewhere, maybe to one of the spark plugs?

Any ideas or advice for things to check would be much appreciated so cheers in advance!

I'd check your plugs first. Back ones are easy to get to, front's are a pig but worth checking.

Make sure the vacuum is wokring for the fuel - do your lights go brighter when revving (a lot)?

simple things motorbikes..so you'll have to describe it better.

My dad had a run out round the block on it and seems to think HT leads or Plugs, but the 2 easy to access HT leads looked fine.

Also started it up and waited for the exhausts to heat up and all 4 did warm up so im guessing its not running with a cylinder down?

Lights go a tad brighter when revving but not much to be honest, and have done it the same amount since I got her 2 months back

Took seat panel off last night and got to the 2 rear plugs, but don't have a deep enough socket to get them out, d'oh!

How would I check for the vacuum working please? Heard something like running it with filler cap open works as a quick test?

I'm not far from Blackburn, just updated my location but its not showing yet.

Make sure all the rubber mats are in the right places and that water isn't getting into/onto the leads, coils and plugs. My NC35 would cough and splutter like a bastard in very heavy rain or peristent drizzle when I forst got it, and once or twice it actually stalled and refused to start for ages. After the first time it had a full service that included new plugs, it stopped doing it, and touch wood, 10 years later never has done since! I figure that either the plug caps weren't located quite spot on and/or the plugs were iffy, or excessive amounts of water were getting where they shouldn't have....

Also, it blew one of the fuses once, I can't remember which one, but it knocked out various lights, and bizarrely the bike wouldn't go above about 6K without missing something chronic. New fuse fixed that. I seem to recall that was because the rear brake light switch wiring touched the exhaust and melted.
