Hey oop. Finally just fitted a 600 shock to my nc29 and per usual it,s just started really pissin down, so can,t tell you if it is any better although just sitting on it, it feels better. The thing is since it raised the rear ride height (15 - 20mm) it now sit,s at a hell of an angle while on the side stand, is this ok or will i need to weld a bit on to the end of the stand.
Any answers are welcome. Now i,m off to get hammered, see ya ;)

Just fitted the 600 shock to mine, how do you adjust the sag on it?

Sorry - its not an attempt to belittle anyone - but - OMG :( - its the same as the old method - sag~preload ring thing - under the spring .. no ?...... mind you finding the right C spanner to adjust that great big Collet is an arse.

The side stand height issue seems to just require a mindfull placing of machine (esp in windy situ's)- which is no bad thing.

My old suspension was shot, so the change was dramatic for me - but adjusting the settings from min to max results in utterly obvious differences even at standstill. Its getting the slight adjustments dialed in to make it all work better for your riding thats requires some patience an observation.

Now feeling belittled, but i was referring to what i use to move the damn stubborn thing. Have tried a drift but no go. Will have to keep an eye out for one of those c spanners me thinks.

:D Hey oop again, finally got to riding the bike with the 600 shock on it, what a f*cking difference, it goes round corners the way it was supposed to. Anybody with a cbr 400 nc29 i highly recommend this change, unless your a short a*se. As for adjusting the sag i just use a c spanner that i bought on the cheap from fleabay, but it is a bit tight to get to, i put the preload at No 1 which gives about 10mm in static sag (i think that the right saying?) all other settings i put at the halfway points and this seems to suit me just fine, i,m 10 and a bit stone ???.
Oh yeh i was wrong about how much it raised the rear ride height it,s actually about 30mm higher, but again what a difference in handling don,t know if this is because my old shock was completely Knackered or if the rear ride height increase has helped. Maybe a bit of both me thinks.
As for the side stand i just welded and shaped a piece of metal to the bottom of it and it,s fine now, still leans over more than normal but it definetly looks better than the way it was.
Now it,s time refix one of my front forks, serves me right for buying cheap and nasty parts of fleabay, think i,ll just buy original parts.
