would like to ask you all can i change a fork selector in the gear box with out removing the rear cylinders.
as 2nd gear feels like there a few teeth missing

To do any work inside the gearbox requires the cases to be split, i.e. removal of the engine and pretty much complete dis-assembly.

I've replaced a selector fork in an NC30, unfortunaley, they are not a cassette gearbox, so its a complete engine out job and splitting of the cases. Be careful putting it back together though, as the selector forks have to fit in the right grooves when you lower one half onto the other, ideally its a two person job, with a torch and a long slim screw driver to ensure that they locate properly.

PS - would that be the black and red NC30 that went on ebay which 2nd gear wouldn't work?

no it was not on the bay, the problem was a friend bought the bike but took it back cos as soon as you put into 2nd gear it felt like you wer on and of the throttle.
4 weeks later he got back in touch with my friend saying its fixed would he like to buy it back thats wer i stepprd in
i told him i knew the story behind it at that point he showed me a worn dog leg and said it took 4 weeks due to parts on order i asked he must of had to split the cases,, he said no that he went on to some forum and they said you can do it with out splitting the cases, at that point i jumped on nailed it in 2nd gear all seams fine ,,,,,,
50 mile later on way home in to a 2nd gear corner 13000 revs it done the same as it did at low revs but this time towards red line.
any idea anyone

The clutch isnt slipping is it?

its more likely to slip out of higher gears than lower gears.

no it does not jump out of gear and ive also mstripped the clutch and changed the plates but it still is the same.
this only has this problem in 2nd gear
