In the storage compartment attached to the frame is a small 30cm looped steel cable that attaches to the subframe and then where?

Despite having 4 NC35's at the moment I still don't know how this thing is meant to go originally or even what it's for?

NC35#1 came with a single seat and one end of the cable unattached.
NC35#2 came without it.
NC35#3 came with one end of the cable unattached.
NC35#4 came with two, one with one end of the cable unattached, the other attached to the pillion seat.

Is it meant to be an 'emergency' cable for the pillion seat in case it comes loose?
Is it meant to attach somewhere as a helmet lock?
Is it something else entirely?

Yeah, I've got both also. One attaches to the pillion seat so that if it's not locked down it doesn't go for a flight. And the other is what you said it is, it's a helmet lock, you loop the free end through the D-ring on the helmet and then hook it down around the hook that's welded on right behind the screw head at the other end.

Ah, so there should be two then?

Druid, maybe you can help me out too. Had a few things I noticed also. I had a couple loose parts in the boxes when I got the bike, namely the large, flat rubber shield that hangs down on the left side of the engine inside the fairing? What does it attach to? It is similar to the one at the front of the motor near the opening of the airbox and the one at the back that covers the rear spark plugs. And I had a few loose blocks of rubber/foam that go somewhere under the fairings? One was square, one was long. Probably not vitaly important, but serve some purpose. Also, there was a rubber ring/grommet that fits perfect around the opening in the tail for the key hole, is there one here? Does it go between the two fairing pieces or does it go around the lock cyclinder? Hard to tell from the parts diagrams. And the right side, the middle radiator hose that goes between the two rads, does it actually touch up against the inside of the fairing? Because mine does, so don't know if its fitted properly, but there is no other way it could go. ALso, I've re-attached the two rubber pieces on the screen behind the V-cowl, one rubber block attached at the top and the rubber moulding along the left side of the actual screen material. Thanks!

Are there 2 rubber strips on the frame rails under the riders seat? It appears like there is two marks on the under surface of the seat. Seems like it would make sense to keep the seat from rubbing on the panels. Just wondering cause mine doesn;t have any??

One side attaches to the front lower fairing mount, the other goes into the underside of the frame into the rearward attachment for the fairing trim/infil strips with a plastic push in clip.

There are quite a few bits of foam glued in various places, I'll take some pics of the insides of the fairings for you.

Grrrrr, I forgot to order that bit!!
It goes between the two fairing pieces round the lock.

I can't remember those, I just remember there being quite a few bits stuck to the insides, I'll take some pics when I remove the lowers tomorow anyway.

Not listed as a separate part either.

Oh well, maybe the pillion seat for NC35#1 has it on, it's buried in a box at the bottom of the garage and i can't remember!

The two cables are very similar except the the helmet lock cable is slightly longer and has a rubber covering. The pillion seat cable is just bare metal.

i had this on my nc30, i have removed it as i swap between my single seat cowl and pillion seat, you can have it for the cost of postage if your interested?
