I've read that the NC30 came with two alternator sizes 107mm and something else. Can you tell by the engine number that which alternator will fit?
Also do you usually have to change the generator cover gasket when changing stators?

Sod's law dictates that if you don't buy a spare gasket, the old one is guaranteed to tear!

There was an early and late model stator and flywheel, the older stator isn't compatible with the newer flywheel and vice versa. You won't know which you have until you take a look.

I found two stator types one diameter 107mm and the other is 102mm. Which one would fit this:

Ok, I have almost all the parts sitting in the garage so I measured them:
The stator and flywheel on the right came out of a working engine. The Stator is 102mm and the internal diameter of the flywheel is 105mm.
I also happen to have on of the other NC30 flywheels, but no corresponding stator. The internal diameter of this flywheel is only 103mm
So it would seem that only a 102mm stator would fit either flywheel as 107mm is too large.
Hope that helps
Cheers

Thanks Luke!
Here's a photo in exchange I made today at the local junkyard:
