With my nc30 in refit at the moment I've been considering a couple of jobs to do. There was a phase a few years ago where people where updating the rear shock from the standard version to the rs250 shock.

Is it worth while ?? Is there a specific type to get as I can get the mark 1 rs250 adjustable shock.

The mark 1 non height adjustable does the job just the same as it's slightly longer than the standard showa anyway raises the back nicely. Reqs rebuilding resprung revalved etc reservoir turned and some mods to top mount and suspension knuckle to fit bottom mount. Worthwhile if the shock is cheap enough when you factor in the other costs involved.
Fitting a bmw s1000r one might be a better alternate newer fresher shock see the thread for details.
