I've just bought a NC30 (H reg - '90), ready for my test on the 27th of October :)
Here's some pics;
With a little bit of damage (fell off the side stand);
I've been reading through tones of the topics on here and looking at all the shinnies that Tyga do, and have big plans at best :)
This will be my first "proper" bike, after I have taken a sledgehammer to my clapped out, un-reliable Yam SR125.

Welcome along. That is a lovely looking bike there Clart. That is my favourite NC colour scheme. My recommendation to you would be sort the suspension and some sticky tyres and fill the rest of the tank with petrol rather than the Tyga option. I'm not disrespecting Tyga in any way as I've had their bodywork in the past and still have some of their bits on my bike but you will benefit more from a suspension overhaul/upgrade and just enjoy riding it.

Thank you,
Yeah, just thinking long term :D
All that needs doing is, like you said, the tyres and suspension, and the valve clearences need sorting (i'm lead to believe)

Nice bike there Clart, all the best for your test.
Buts whats with the
after I have taken a sledgehammer to my clapped out, un-reliable Yam SR125.
I'm currently on a Yam SR125 and booked for a test but i wouldn't say it's unreliable, if anything it's the most reliable bike i've had. Yes clapped out old rusting snail, but not un-reliable.
Only thing i need to do is change the disk so if you are going to take that sledge hammer anywhere near it i'd be intrested.
Heres a pic of my NC30 i'm hoping i'll be swapping on to soon :D
So good luck to both of us

Coming into this with no real knowledge, what would you suggest, i don't mind learning, but would like a nudge in the right direction :)

Fork upgrade kit from rick oliver, £100 ish
Rear shock start from £150 and right up to £600
Bridgestone BT090's or dunlop alpha 10's £150 - £180, shop around
Fresh oil, new filters, carb balance and valve check will have it running sweet, All of that is covered in the haynes manual if you fancy having a go yourself. Not a hard job and your find plenty of advice on here.
Good luck with it
