Hi all im usually on the V4 forum as i have a NC35 but a friend of mine has just brought a GSXR 400 non runner very cheap and has started pulling it apart to restore. Its been standing for years and as of yet doest have the reg or V5.
Pulled the engine apart and its fooked so cheapest option would to buy another engine, trouble is i know very little about the gsxr and wouldnt know if different models are interchangable so i thought best place to start would be here. I'll try get some pics of the bike but until then all i can tell you about the bike is that it had USD forks which i havent seen on a gsxr 400 yet so maybe that will narrow down which model it is???
It also has a colour scheme similar to the K4/5 gsxr 740 aniversary edition which my friend wants to paint rizzla blue!! criminal in my opinion so im trying to talk him out of that one.

Just look at the frame number, the model (ie gk71, gk73 or gk76) are the 1st part of that.
