VFR paint codes thread should have many in there?

People have put the 750 vfr engine into an NC30 frame without too much hassle.. the 30 frame is a better frame than the 21/24 design (the 21 and 24 frames are idential) only the swingarm is different which is interchangable.

If your wanting to build a project then with a 750 engine I guess you'd bin most of the 21 apart from the frame?

Forks are soft as hell and the brakes wouldnt' really be upto spec. Some NC30 style 41mm cartridge forks / 4 pot calipers would see it stop well.

With a 24 swining arm you could fit a VFR750 wheel no problem. (the earlier ones use a smaller tyre.. I think 180 will be too big.

For all the hassle any money wouldn't it be better to keep it as a stock 21?

Doing the 750 engine etc would just turn it into an expensive vfr750?

NC30 has good suspension and brakes and 17's as stock up front, an RVF rear will make it both, so it's a lot less hassle to put a 750 lump in as you dont' really need to do much?

Just some thoughts.

If theres any specific codes for paint you can't find in that section let me know what it is.

Thanks
where im at is my NC24 track bike is done finished painted and looking ready for her second outing at lydden

I have a 21 frame which i was going to build from scratch.

I have a 17" froont wheel from a CBR1000 which seems to fit no prob, plan was to do the same with the rear.

youve got my attention ref the vfr750 rear wheel fitting to the 24 though is the 750 a 17" straight fit?

not sure how to add pics at the moment

People fit it to the NC30, they have the NC30 axle modded for splines, it will bolt straight onto the 24.

Not sure how you'll get on with chain clearance et al.

The 5 x 17" rear from the later RC36 is most desirable I belive.

Should allow you to fit a 160/170/180 depending on clearnace issues. 160 being the safest i'd imagine (so long as its' certified for a 5" rim)

You can fit a 150/60/18 onto the standard 3.5" rim of the NC24, although its' not ideal will still let you use a BT90 (great track-day tire) people on here have done it..
