I found it easier to adjust on the abba stand, then drop it onto the side stand to do the final measurement/check.
Mind you I was having a thick git moment with the bearing holder etc, etc
Anyhow for what its worth, I found I could measure the slack in various places with the bike on the abba stand, get it within tolerance at the tightest point and then drop it onto the side stand to check it again, there was pretty much sod all difference between the two measuremenst tbh and then as a further check I removed the abba stand and checked it yet again............. I'm clearly a belt and braces sort of person

Just did my rvf chain tension with my dad and its very fine on the adjustment-only needs the slightest of movement for a big change. Is this normal? the gauge decal shows it right on the edge of the red/green with a recent chain and sprocket before i bought it. Should i suspect the sprocket ratio is not O.E. i.e. lower-it does go rather well on acceleration! 60 mph shows just under 6k in top?
