just thought i'd start this topic to see is there much interest in replica headlight covers for silhouette fairings as they are difficult to buy and very expensive for all that they are. and for these that dont have silhouette fairings maybe they could be made to fit a standard nose to give the endurance look without shelling out £*** for a nose cone.

and also to see if there would be any interest in round covers that would sit infront of the stock headlight to act as a protector in case stones etc flick up towards the glass. i know these can be purchased off the shelf ready to go in verious colours, some tacky, others very tacky, but if clear was offered would anyone be tempted ?

sam N.I. has been trying to replicate some headlight covers by using my silhouette headlight covers as a template.
this first one is a "very rough" first draft to see how easy it was to cut,finish and bend to the required shape.

this is my acid green coloured headlight cover.

for a first attempt i think it's very good,it's not 100% percent the right shape but thats more my fault for not drawing the original template properly, when sam gets a free minute he going to call up with a set of calipers to take some proper measurements and he believes the 2nd attempt will be closer to the original.

what are peoples thoughts on this.

Yep I could do with a spare or 2 of the silhouette ones.

Only thing is although all the silhoutte covers look the same shape they ain't, the ones I borrowed off you royster are different to the ones I have now, yours were just slightly different shaped. I'm willing to lend mine so atleast we've 2 different versions.

I'll be interested in a pair as well, although Tony may be taking ownership of my silhouette before I get that far?

Id be interested in some clear ones for MOT use, but would definitely put my name down for some in the acid green as that is the proper endurance look. Unfortunately i don't have any original covers to lend. What differences are there between the silhouette units then?

I did pm him but didnt get a reply, im intrrested in some amber silohuete shape ones for a standard 30 fairing, amber are the only legal colour you can use on the road and also the same as the 1991 seed suzuka bike :D

Good work, always nice to see an affordable alternative. Now if someone could start knocking up Silhouette style fairings for a fraction of the price they'd be onto a winner.

The covers look great - I would possibly be interested in one of each colour, depending on price.
I don't own a shilouette top fairing but I have to aim for something!!

I have solid white headlight covers on my standard oe fairing (round) I have put the race numbers on them from the replica paint scheme.
The bike has often looked over at bike meets, and by the odd policeman and nothing has been said as to it being legal or not - as they are removable, I obviously take them off in poor or dark light conditions.
