Starting and idling advice please
Hi folks.
Just went to look at a 1989 NC30 import (54k km's). Looks straight and in original colours too but when starting its a bit hit and miss. The starter solenoid is clicking away fine and the starter motor whirrs away but nothing. A few presses of the starter button in succession and it bursts into life. The battery isn't labouring at all so wondered what it could be?
Also when it does get going it idles at 3000 rpm and doesn't go below.
Are these likely to be indications of something major wrong?
Any help would be appreciated as I dont want to end up buying a lemon

Re: Starting and idling advice please
How are you starting it? Should be full choke no throttle.
Also ask the owner if he's recently replaced/adjusted the throttle and/or choke cable.
Worth having a fiddle with the idle adjuster too (sits just below the choke lever)
Could be something as simple as that, if not someone else on here might be able to help more than me
