NC30 cam gear towers

Hey all,

Just pondering something (and I'm stuck at work so can't check!)...

Is it possible to install the cam gears towers in the wrong head on an NC30? They only sit in the head one way because of the screw from under the water pipe that locates in the side + the dowel pins on one side only.......

but can you put the front one in the rear head and vice versa? It would make sense if Honda swapped the sides that the dowel pins were on so it is physically impossible to mix them up, but I'm curious if that is the case?

I labeled everything up really well when I stripped it, but now I have doubt setting in on this one thing and I can't shake it!

Cheers
Luke

Well, looking at the parts diagram, the front and rear have different part numbers...

Yep - the backlash gears are set differently. I'm just curious if they make it impossible to install them the wrong way round?

No idea. I would hope not. I can dig out a set I have at home and take a look later tonight.

I put my cam-gears in on Sunday, I think you can mix them up.

However, the flanges on the gear cases have F and R stamped on them for Front and Rear.
