Should the rear wheel have any play in it at all or should it be solid !
Bike fail a mot on rear wheel bearings but when took rear hub apart the bearings where fine and was advice the axel was worn !
So I got my hands on a whole rear swing arm with sprocket and crush drive include ! Only paid £60 for it but iv put the rear wheel on this near swing arm and there is a slight amount of play in it Is this normal ? Don't want to strip down this unit and change the axel over before being sure , sorry to go on about this !

No play at all.

Should be solid.

Either somethings loose or it has worn / knackered bearings.

I told you that you should change the bearings in your swining arm (it's less that 60 quid) for the double caged ball race that's usually the culprit.

It's difficult to tell with the bearings in the hub, and when you get them out you need to remove the grease to check them properly.

It's usually always the double caged ball that goes anyway.. 6908RS or something similar...
