Hey,
I recently bought an vfr400 NC30 and was wondering how much chain slack I should have. It does seem pretty loose as it touches the swing arm when I push it up. Does anyone know how much travel it hold have?

How do you measure that? It is very close to the swingarm in the middle snd touches it if I push it up.

Yer mines the same. I push it up about halfway between the rear sprocket and the drive sprocket and it touches the swingarm. If i let the chain just go slack, its only about 35-40mm from the swingarm anyway....

Just a quick question following on from this.

If I measure chain slack with the bike on an abba stand is it different to the measurement on the side stand?

chain adjustments should be done with the bike on its side stand, rotate the wheel so the lower run is at its tightest there should be 15-25mm slack measured inline from the end of the chain slider on the underside of the swinger
