Do you take out the old rubber gaskets and put hylomar in the groove instead or how do you do it? I'm afraid I'll block something in the carbs with the squeezed out sealant after assembly.

I used to recommend using sealant but you do run the risk of it causing blockages, though it never caused me issues in 3 years of racing.
These days I use Rick Oliver's replacement o-rings, only a few quid for a set of 4, bargain!

Shipping takes ages, so I only order from the UK if I have time and getting several things at once. Cammo did you leave the old gasket in when using the sealant?

Yes - i always left the gasket in when using the hylomar blue - but as cammo said, order a load of the o rings anyway, saves the mess everytime you need to open and reseal.

Personally, I would use Hylotyte Red (Hermetite), because it's semi hardening.
