RVF cutting out

Hi guys,

My neighbour has got an issue with his 35. It starts from cold no problem at all but can cut out soon after he has pulled off and then the bike won't fire up again. This happened again tonight after he had changed the spark plugs and fitted a new air filter. He had a problem with the choke lever not staying out but has replaced the mechanism and this now operates correctly. Any ideas as to what to check next?

Thanks,
Paul..

Vacuum pipe for the fuel tap diaphragm is a very common fault...
If it's starting first thing is the morning, I can only assume it's filling the bowl over night. If the float bowl is full, it will start and run on choke for a good minute or so.

Otherwise, I would be checking the breather pipe for the fuel tank!

+1

When it warms up it can collapse, restricting any fuel getting through to the carbs. Best to replace it if in any doubt.
