Long shot - anyone got a spare 3TJ Sprocket Carrier?

I'm keen to get my 3TJ wheel modded to fit my 3EN2. I've picked up the wheel, I'm just short of the sprocket carrier. Does anyone have one they would part with? (I've got the rubbers). Thanks. - Hoping I might reach a few more options as no replies so far in sale section.

All the wheels that seem to pop on ebay don't have the hub drives either, there must be a stock pile of them somewhere. Have you looked at your 3en2 one, will it fit if you swap bearings? Keep us updated on this I'm doing a tzr250 rear in my 3en2 swinger.

Hmmm, someone else mentioned the possibility of changing the bearing in the 3en2 carrier. Admittedly, I was being a bit lazy in ignoring this and just thinking that it would just be easy to get the 3TJ carrier.

I figured I'd get off my fat arse last night and go and check this out, only to realise that I've sold the original carrier with a previous rolling chassis I put together to get some surplus bits out the way.

So now, I've got nothing and I'm back to 3TJ carrier hunting. I'll let you know if I can find out anything more along the way.

Bingo, just found this website on google (after searching ebay for a few days) http://www.lm-spares.co.uk/acatalog/Yamaha.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and got a 3TJ sprocket carrier for £30 delivered.

I didn't think the site's stock would be real-time, but I was pleasantly surprised when I phoned them and found they did have one.

I'm not sure if they have more, but if anyone else needs one, it's worth checking. - I thought the price was fair too, not the normal rip over prices that breakers typically try and charge for some stuff.

I'm going to get it machined down in the next week or two and I'll try and update the thread when it's fitted.

Just had a reply from a question I e-mailed out a day or so ago. I'm sorted now, but one of you guys might want this:

blacks2@btconnect.com email Mark at Black Bike Shop, they've got a 3TJ Sprocket Carrier in at 25+Postage.

Hope this helps.

Hmm, I'm not convinced about LM Spares anymore. - The items not yet arrived and I've been told that it goes on a 4-5 day service, which apparently doesn't include the day you order item. They refuse to give me the Business Post tracking number either and no money has gone out or is pending to go out of my switch card account. They've told me that they won't give tracking numbers unless a parcel is late (even through I just wanted to go to the depot and get it Today if possible to save waiting for delivery until Monday.

I'm not 100% sure they've actually sent it yet and I'm beginning to wander if they've even got one as the parts still showing for purchase on their site. Time will tell. I guess they must have them all and that's why they are rare!

I have been in contact with LM Spares about a 3TJ clip on listed on their site.

Apparently they have stopped breaking bikes and the listings have been removed from their website. The pages we can see are just those left on their server.....

When I called them they did not fill me with confidence as they didn't seem to particularly want my custom!

If no money has gone out of your account, I'd be inclined to call them up, cancel the order and try to get the part from somewhere else. Have you tried BDK?

Alex.

I thought I'd give it till Monday before cancelling the order and the part arrived. It looks from the packing like they sent it Friday for Monday, so why they couldn't have just told me that rather than claiming it's on the way and not offering me a consignment number, I don't know. Either way, it's here.

Sod's law, I've also found a 3EN2 carrier kicking around that I didn't think I had, so I'll try and measure them both up tonight and post the information here for future reference.

Well, the 3TJ sprocket carrier turned up on the Monday (with postage marked as the Friday) so they must have sent it at the last minute. Why they couldn't just tell me that instead of saying their policy is not to give tracking numbers, I don't know. But the long and the short of it is, it arrived and is ideal. - They may just be going through rough times or something (I'm giving their uninterested attitude the benefit of the doubt), who knows!

Dru, to confirm, I found a 3EN2 sprocket carrier kicking about the garage (if anyone wants it for the cost of postage, let me know) and it does physically fit and with a bearing change it would work as you've suggested - in theory. Obviously, in practice, we all know the slightest inconsistency can cause problems when it comes to running gear, so I'd triple check everything if you do the that mod for real. It looks spot on though when I plonked it on the 3TJ wheel and rubbers.

The rear disc from the 3EN2 wheel bolts straight on the 3TJ - I don't know if the 3TJ disc is different (doesn't look like it) but I'm fitting an R1 rear caliper on a custom bracket (yet to be made), so I'd be interested to know if it would all line up ok with the standard bracket and caliper. It bolts to the wheel perfectly though so I guess they are identical.

Check the rear disc dia against the TJ . If the disc is bigger then the caliper might rub on the disc edge.
