First ride out on the VFR today since fitting the RVF front and the steering lock is shocking, for those that have done the conversion have you done anything to increase the steering lock range?

I just ignored it. When I fitted the RVF front end, it actually gave me more lock than before as I had the Tyga lock-stops fitted on the standard 30 front end as the steering damper I had fitted needed the lock reduced. There really isn't anything you can do I'd imaging, apart from grinding away bits of the yoke or frame. Only other thing I can think off is to cut the lugs off completely then drill in a bolt on either side and adjust accordingly.

Tony, wait till you see the lock on my NC its a JOKE! i got a sprint damper and had to fit lock stop to prevent damage to the piston, its a 135mm damper too, i need to see about getting some other brackets tbh.

I run the conversion on my race bike.

I had to dremel the lockstops back until I was happy I had roughly the same lock as with the stock yokes.

Took a whole load of messing about with a vernier and lots of forks in and out the bike to get it right but its doable. Just keep the bearings covered obviously.

My situation was made more "fun" by the last owner having snapped a lockstop at some point and replacing it with a welded nut. :o
