Undone the nut but the wheel is solid. Any suggestions for easing it off.

Thought about a bit of steel behind the spokes on the drive side an another longer piece going across the shaft with the nut back on to protect the end. These pieces will then be tied together with threaded bar to gradually pull them together and pull the wheel off the shaft. Tried a rubber hammer and a bit of penetrating fluid but no joy.Am I missing a simple solution. It has been stood a while.

Block of wood and twat in from the sprocket side, rotate wheel in quarters and hit it again its a common problem

I got a bearing puller and a cylindrical tube to push against the axle. mine was proper tight and took a big spanner and lots of torque to get it off. Eventually it popped off and I gave the shaft a good clean with emery cloth and re-assembled with copper slip

i bet some clown has powdercoated the wheel and not bothered to clean up the inside mating surface of powder when they but the wheel back on.
brute force is the only way

make sure you clean the inside of the wheel up with a dremel after to stop it happening again
