Seeing as I've my standard 1000RR shock lying on the garage floor, I'm gonna fit it to the 400. I know severtal have done this before, but the info I'm looking is 'what size are the spacers for the top shock mount?'
The shock lower fits perfectly, but the top is a bit loose. Anyone able to help, or with a standard NC30 top shock bush fit in the 1000RR fork?
Cheers.

Cant you just shim it with some washers unit you've got it right then get some spacers made to match the size of the washers.
What length is the 100rr shock out of interest? what what weight spring is fitted?

Dunno yet Tony, but it's only a little taller than the standard NC30 shock I have lying in the garage, but I'll need to sheck it out. As for the spring, it's whatever left the factory with, so I imagine I'll need to soften it off a good bit for the smaller bike. There's not much of a gap and I've nothing thin enough to fit in so I'm gonna need a few spacers anyway.
PS, you get the air box lid ok?

Aye the airbox arrived safely
My guess is your need a stiffer spring when fitting it too the 400 due to the link ratio, what spring is fitted to your online on the blade? It is a ohlins you have on it isn't it?

Gareth I have lots of washers if you want to call over to see if any suit, and I might have some suitable shock bolts, is your standard shock an 89 or 91 model ?

Standard one is an 89. The top bush comes out of the '30 shock, but the RR6's won't budge
Cheers Rhory, will try and get over shortly.

Can't you measure the top of the two shocks to see how much thicker you need to make the shims?
