Who's put on a swingarm? Taking off seems ready enough.
Seen a toothed socket on ebay, but Haynes shows the official tool to be like a ring socket on a side handle, and says that you need to hold the centre with an allen key whilst tightening. Pat your head whilst rubbing your belly too, maybe?
Was wondering what peoples experiences of how true or essential this is.
The ebay ones (regular sockets with teeth) don't seem to allow this.
So, how have others managed to reinstall the swingarm?

bought the ebay tool and followed the workshop manula, simple and easy. You'd stuggle to torque it up correctly using a screwdriver and a hammer, the proper tool is better!

I always use the correct tool, but if you cannot hold the adjuster bolt when using a socket type peg spanner on the lock nut, then try this.
Torque up the adjuster bolt to 11 ft/lbs then paint a line at 12 o clock on the adjuster bolt and torque up the lock nut to 58ft/lbs
Check to see if the adjuster nut has moved ,if so, redo as above, but allow for the same amount of tightening of the adjuster nut.
Nipping up the spindle nut will help
It may take a few trys to get it right.
