Hi all, I'm in need of some help, I have an nc30 but I run nc35 carbs with the full hrc carb kit & air box set up, due to an accident & writing off my fazer, I haven't ridden her for about 18 months. So I decided its time to start using her or sell her so iv got her all ready to go when I notice a major fuel leak, it turns out for some reason the carbs are over flowing & filling up the cylinders, so I obviously thought the floats were at fault but after fitting new float switches & double checking the float heights, & thoroughly cleaning the carbs it is still happening, but it only seems to do it when the carbs are on the bike, I connected them up to the tank when I had them off & had no probolem but after they have been on the bike for a bit they start to over flow, dose anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Any help wold be greatly appreciated as I'm stumped, or if anyone has a set of nc35 carbs they want to sell ill gladly take them, thanks, Stevie.

Faulty tap diaphram maybe?

Iv done the fuel tap mod so it's gravity feed, but that all seems to be sound, iv had the tank off for a while & it isent leaking at all, as I said I'm stumped, I could only put it down to the floats but as I said iv replaced all the float switches & set all the float heights, I have no idea what else could be causing it? It's just really frustrating.

Id recheck float heights cant be a great deal else.

It is easy to think you have them right but have them wrong

Sounds like sticking floats.

Are they central (do you use force to put the carbs on, can easily dislodge them)

The fact your tap is gravity fed might help diagnose as you can leave the fuel on.

Find the leaking carb and tap the float bowl a few good taps with the handle end of a screwdriver.. it can help seat the floats as sometimes, even though they seal they stick and don't seal until you free them up

Thanks guys I thought it had to be the floats as there the only thing that's would cause this type of probolem, I'll refit the carbs & try your sudjestions as soon as I get a chance, I was just gonna buy a new set of carbs but I'm having trouble finding a breakers yard who has any! I love my bike but they do get very frustrating sometimes. I'll let u know how I get on once there back on the bike.

did you use the same float needles in the same holders ? they wear as a pair.
maybe time for new needles but unless replaced with the holders wont last for as long i doubt
