I've put too much oil in my engine...

...will it go bang?
Sorry, guys, another newbie question - it wasn't until I got the bike back on the Abba stand tonight that I realised why I'd done it.
When I did my oil change I put my bike on the Abba stand to put the oil in, to make it easier to check the level. Of course, the stand raises the back wheel in the air by a good few inches, so the engine is not level...
I've got 1.25 litres left of the 4 litre bottle, so I've put 2.75 litres in, instead of the 2.5 l recommended by the Haynes for oil and filter change. I did drain the engine really well.
The level is showing above the max on the dipstick, when the bike is held upright, WITH BOTH WHEELS ON THE GROUND (d'oh); the level is still showing on the flat bit, but only just.
Should I drain some oil out?
(What a dipstick!)
