Revs rise speed stays constant on my 1989 NC30 however, once the engine is really warm this stops.

Before i start a clutch strip down I`m thinking possible worn friction plates has anyone got any advice /pointers with this problem.

you mean the bike stops? the revs go down gradually? if so, change oil and replace plugs... fixed it on my bike.. :P

No he means the opposite. The engine RPM rises but the speed of the bike does not. Once the bike is warm, this condition goes away.

Something is definitely amiss with your clutch.

Its obviously the clutch but strange it stops once warm. I would guess something is expanding slightly with the heat and no longer slipping so its only obvious when cold.

You will prob find even if it is warm, in 5th/6th, low revs, on an incline and put the bike under load - it will slip.

Or could be as simple as the cable like Porndog says.

Yep it's a weird one that it stops when warm.

Get a new clutch-case gasket and inspect the cable (check the length for stretch) and then dismantle the clutch and inspect for wear and tear.

Doesn't take too long and you'll probably find your answer.

+1 on this either being the issue, or FS oil exacerbating an existing issue with worn plates.
